Travel Tip

Studying abroad teaches you things you can’t learn in a classroom. When I spent my spring semester in Seoul, the biggest growth came from the moments I almost talked myself out of–going to events alone, getting lost on the subway, trying to order food in Korean even when I knew I’d most likely mess up. Every time I pushed past that little bit of nervousness, something good came out of it. So my advice is simple. Just say yes, even when you’re uncomfortable. You don’t magically become confident abroad, but you build that confidence by doing the things that scare you a little. That’s where you start to grow as a person.
