Study abroad is a growing trend for all students, including first generation college students. First generation students also have an incredible opportunity to be the first in their family to study abroad. They may also, however, face concerns and challenges in how to go about the study abroad/off-campus study planning, application, and preparation processes, as well as how to explain their plans to loved ones who may have never had such an experience.
Below are some links to help inform and support first generation students as they plan and prepare to study abroad. The resources are not all-inclusive but are a good starting point to help first generation students prepare for their off-campus study experience. Please also feel free to discuss any questions or concerns with the Office of International & Off-Campus Education.
